About ICBWM 2008
Following three successful International Conference on Ballast Water Management, ICBWM 2008 will serve as an effective forum to bring together the international community of port authorities, fleet managers, technical managers, shipping industries, technology developers, ship designers, classification societies, environmental organisation and academia to provide solutions regarding the ballast water management.
Why You Should Attend?
Since the adoption of the International Convention for the Control and Management of ships’ ballast water in February 2004, numerous technologies have been proposed and tested for their safety, effectiveness, cost efficiency and environmental performance.
Several countries have ratified the Convention or are closer to
ratification. After obtaining IMO approvals, there has been a
great leap in development of innovative ideas and technologies
to address this complex issue.
For technology developers, this is the time to share your latest and existing technologies to the maritime community to allow newly built and existing ships to conduct ballast water management that meets the ballast water performance standard within the designated timeline.
For the maritime community, it is time to learn about the emerging and approved technologies and other innovative management systems.
